Christmas on the Beach

Aunty Jenny, Uncle Joe, Aunty Alex and Uncle Steve had to work on Christmas Day so Alex, myself and the kiddies decided to check out St. Kilda Beach. We decided to test out the GPS and managed to find our way to the beach which was half an hour away. We had lunch in a small random restaurant just before heading there. It's my first Christmas away from home, let alone my first Christmas without snow. THe beach was gorgeous. There were quite a few people there, many dressed in Santa's hats. We even found some people dancing around a Xmas tree perched on the sand. Cricket (the sport) is quite popular, as there were many different cricket games going on throughout. I still dont understand the rules, and it doesn't compare to my hockey. We spent a good two hours at the beach, collecting sea shells, eating icecream and soaking up the sun. It was quite windy so eating icecream was a bit tricky. We left shortly after our parking expired and headed back home for Xmas dinner w/ the neighbours. Xmas dinner was delicious. Lots of different types of food ranging for curry and ox tail to a pot roast. My favourite part was definetly the dessert. The tarimisu Dee made was to die for.

Aunty Jenny, Alex and I woke up early the next morning to battle it out at the mall for Boxing Day. After circling multiple parking lots, we finally found a spot in the carpark (aussie term for parking spot/lot). Poor Alex never had to fight for spots before, and had to bear Aunty Jenny and I yelling at him, "go go go..turn left...drive faster!!!!". Years of experience battling it out w/ other horrible asian drivers in Pacific Mall had prepared me well for occasions such as this. The sales at Chadstone were nothing spectacular. We only spent 3 hrs there as the line ups were crazy (there were HUGE line ups just to get into the Swarovski store!). I managed to get a couple of tops there. The shopping at home is a lot better as many things are overpriced here. Other differences are there's tax here too, but the tax is already incorporated in the price. No calculations required. =)
